Job Title: Cabling Tech II
Position Type: Full Time
Location: Denver, CO

Job Description
USNet is looking for a talented, energetic Cabling Technician capable of working in a fast-paced technology environment. The Cabling Tech II position will work under the direct supervision of our Project Lead Technicians, and will be responsible for the installation of multiple types of structured cabling components for datacenter, office and industrial environments. This position is an entry-level opportunity within our Operations group. The right candidate must be able to work up to 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.

Job Responsibilities
>   Physically install Cat 3, Cat 5, Enhanced Cat 5, Cat 6, Cat 6e, Category 6A, Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems, and Access Control system cabling
>   Installation of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping, and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
>   Terminate, assemble, and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors, light crimp connectors and optical fiber ST, SC and LC ceramic connectors
>   Accurately test and save copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required
>   Diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber problems
>   Removal and demolition of abandoned cables
>   Possess a basic knowledge of Access Control Systems and cable requirements. Ability to install access control devices, knowledge of low voltage power supplies
>   Maintain and reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Code
>   Perform site surveys, read and use blueprints and floor plans, and conduct visual site inspections
>   Install entrance facility grounding infrastructure and perform grounding tests
>   Perform cable splices for copper and optical fiber (mechanical and fusion)
>   Identify active circuits

Job Requirements
>   Technician experience working in critical environments
>   Demonstrate basic knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies, cabling standards, and components
>   Preference given to data center or Telecom Central Office experience
>   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
>   Ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with others who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systems
>   Ability to work independently and manage multiple project and priorities
>   Ability to lift 60-75 lbs.
>   Ability to work extended hours (overtime/weekends) as needed
>   Ability to be scheduled for on-call status if needed
>   Position requires daily travel to worksites, and employees must have the ability to independently get to worksites

Preferred Job Experience & Skills
>   1-2 years of experience of cabling in a datacenter, critical uptime environment, or equivalent technical training
>   Experience terminating and testing CAT 5/6 and SMF cables
>   Knowledge of telecommunications and networking technologies, systems, and circuits
>   BICSI and/or CompTIA certifications
